WestJet operates the most modern fleet in North America, comprised of Boeing Next-Generation 737-600, 737-700 and 737-800 aircraft. The aircrafts are equipped with more legroom, leather seats and live seatback television.

Both the 700 and 800 series aircraft are all equipped with blended winglets, a technology that improves the aerodynamic performance and handling characteristics of the 737 while boosting range and reducing fuel burn by up to four per cent.

WestJet Lounge

Westjet has partnered with airport lounges across the country to provide travelers with a comfortable place to relax before to fly. Lounges are available to guests departing from all major Canadian airports such as Vancouver, Calgary, Winnipeg, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City.

Seating and In-flight Service

Travelers can select their seat through online booking or WestJet call centre. Seat selection is available for all flights booked two or more hours before scheduled departure. For charter flights, seat selection is available at the airport only.

Pay per view movies and television programs are available on seat back screens on many flights. WestJet offers buy-on-board menu on most flights. Payment can be made by credit card or through WestJet fly 'n' buy vouchers available at the airport.

WestJet offers different options for check-in:

  • Airport Counter Check-in
  • On-line Check-in : Available on WestJet's online check-in page, up to 24 hours in advance of your departure time
  • Electronic Kiosk Check-in : WestJet offers check-in services for passengers via electronic kiosks for those travelers who want to avoid the lines at the counters. This service is available at 22 airports including Edmonton, Vancouver, Toronto, Las vegas and orlando.

Carry-on Baggage

Two free items of carry-on baggage are permitted per fare-paying customer. Please note: guests travelling to Montego Bay are permitted only one carry-on item.

All carry-on baggage must fit in the sizing device at check-in, and be stored under the seat or in the overhead compartment onboard the aircraft.

WestJet strongly encourage you to bring identification, prescription medication, mobile devices, keys and jewelry in your carry-on baggage in the rare event your baggage is delayed or damaged.

As all carry-on baggage must pass through security, make sure your carry-on complies by following the instructions below.

Checked Baggage

Special Items

Identification documents, medication, keys and jewelerry should be packed in traveler's carry-on baggage. Small size instruments are allowed as part of the carry-on baggage. They must be placed in the overhead compartment, under the seat or in other approved locations.

The following electrical devices are permitted onboard: voice recorders, calculators, laptop computers, hand-held MP3 players, hand-held electronic devices, computer games and photographic equipment. Cellular telephones cannot be used at any time while in flight. Any laptop computer or electrical item will need to be removed from its carrying case at the security gate before being X-rayed.

Sporting Equipment

Travelers are allowed to carry sporting equipment that meets the requirements for air travel for domestic, U.S., international and chartered flights. The maximum length accepted is 9.8 feet for any sports item.

Sporting equipment is subject to all applicable excess baggage fees unless otherwise stated.

Traveling with pets

Traveling with pets is allowed, if WestJet rules and regulations are followed. Your pet must remain in the kennel at all times for safety and operational reasons.
